The GEL–PURSUE™ 7 running shoe is the""neutral" version of the GT-2000™ 9 trainer. It's a functional design for runners who want a comfortable neutral running shoe with a supportive and responsive ride. This season's updates offer an improved fit and feel through the upper while increasing underfoot comfort. The design uses a soft engineered mesh that lets the forefoot spread out while the no-sew overlays improve support in the heel. Holes in the vamp offer a more customized fit in the forefoot, making it more conducive for different foot shapes. Under the foot, a new arch support sockliner provides a soft contour to the arch that provides runners with the right amount of support. Following a more sustainable design approach, this shoe also uses fewer resources to color the sockliner. Although it doesn't feature DYNAMIC DUOMAX® technology or another support component on the medial side of the midsole, this shoe uses a stability TRUSSTIC™ system that provides added torsional rigidity. This component helps runners at different stages of their run. Some runners want support as soon as they step out the door while other runners need the added support when they get tired and start to fatigue during their run. The lightweight FLYTEFOAM® midsole material creates a softer feeling at footstrike while the GEL® technology cushioning is designed to increase shock absorption. Also designed for better durability, this shoe implements an AHARPLUS™ heel plug in the outsole to extend the shoe's lifespan.
